Welcome to Hui Wa'a O Puget Sound (HWOPS)

We are dedicated to perpetuating native Hawaiian culture in the Pacific Northwest. We are a family-oriented organization involving children and adults from all backgrounds. As a club, we not only participate in the sport of outrigger canoe racing, but we also participate in hula and Tahitian dance, Hawaiian language classes, native Hawaiian history and ukulele lessons. We teach our paddlers water safety and the different techniques of paddling.

 Find us on Facebook!

We belong to the Pacific Northwest Outrigger Racing Canoe Association (PNW-ORCA), an umbrella organization that oversees racing activities with rules governing competition and standards of equipment safety of the Washington and Oregon outrigger canoe clubs.

Each year, as part of the PNW-ORCA schedule, we host a regatta at Silver Lake in Everett.

We also race several weekends each month in short course races called regattas, and long distance races during the summer in the Pacific Northwest.
